DISCOVER GREEN IN A WHOLE NEW WAY

Beat The Spokane Heat

With temperatures expected to rise in the coming weeks in the pacific northwest, it is important to know how to maintain your lush green lawn as the sun beats down on it day after day. True, summer hasn’t even begun yet, but it is important to know how to prepare for the next couple heated months. Lack of rain and extreme temperatures can take a once healthy and happy lawn to the pit of brown patchy despair.

First of all, remember that your lawn will need water. Not a ton, but it is important to keep your grass hydrated in order for it to stay healthy.

Secondly, do not cut your grass too short. This reduces the grass’ ability to produce energy for future growth(which is the opposite of what you want). It is also important to note that the sharper your mower blades are, the faster the grass will heal from the injury caused to it when it was cut. Dull blades tear the grass instead of cutting it, which can be extremely detrimental to having a healthy lawn.

Lastly, do not rake and bag lawn clippings. It is a common misconception that leaving grass clippings on the lawn causes it to die when in fact the presence of these clippings is very similar to the presence of lawn fertilizers and will enhance the growth rather than alter it.

Keep in mind that if you do not have time to take care of your own lawn during the summer, Impeccable Landscapes would be more than happy to make it our responsibility. Contact us any time for a quote on our lawn care and landscaping services!
